Writing Guidelines

Language of Publication

Articles submitted for publication in the journal should be written in either Turkish or English. Abstracts and keywords must be prepared in both Turkish and English.

Acceptance Criteria

The journal accepts original and high-quality articles in the field of Alevism and Bektashism. Submissions must adhere to the Publication Principles and the journal's writing guidelines.

Each submission must include the following, all signed by the corresponding author:

  • Responsibility Statement Form,
  • Ethical Principles Statement Form,
  • Copyright Transfer Form,
  • A Cover Page, which contains information about the author(s), as the journal uses a double-blind peer review process.

These documents, along with the manuscript, should be submitted through the DergiPark system. No fees are charged to authors for submitting articles to the journal.

Format

Since articles are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, author information should not be included in the main text of the manuscript. Instead, this information should be provided on the Cover Page, which is to be submitted alongside the manuscript. Articles should be written in Turkish or English, using Microsoft Word, in Times New Roman font, and must adhere to the ISNAD citation style, as specified in the "Documents" section.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should be prepared in both Turkish and English, with a length of 150 to 250 words, and must succinctly present the essence of the article. It should not contain references, figures, tables, photographs, or similar content. Additionally, five keywords should be provided in both Turkish and English.

Length

Articles must be between 6,000 and 10,000 words, excluding the bibliography but including tables and figures. Articles outside this range will not be considered for evaluation.

Figures, Tables, and Photographs

The number of visuals (figures, tables, photographs, etc.) in the articles is limited to 10. All visuals, including their captions, should be placed in the appropriate locations within the text. Additionally, all visuals should be submitted separately in JPEG format, with a resolution suitable for print. Photographs should be at least 300 dpi, and figures, tables, and similar drawings should be at least 600 dpi. To avoid confusion during the design phase, each visual must be numbered according to its order in the text.

Visuals such as figures and tables should be named according to their types and grouped in the appendix section. Figures should be labeled as "Figure: 1," and tables as "Table: 1." Figures, tables, and photographs taken from another source must be cited.

Tables included in the text must have a number and a title. The table number and title should be centered above the table, with each word capitalized.

While figures and photographs may be used within the text, it is preferable to place them at the end of the text under the heading "Appendices," following the numbering and naming conventions outlined above. The numbers and titles of figures, tables, and photographs should be centered beneath the visual and written in sentence case.
