KÜN-AY Journal of Alevism and Bektashism Studies is the first institutional publication on Alevism and Bektashism in the field of public publishing. It is the inaugural publication of the Alevi-Bektash Culture and Cemevi Directorate of the Republic of Turkey, which was established by Presidential Decree No. 112, published in the Official Gazette on 9 November 2022, No. 32008. The KÜN-AY Journal of Alevism and Bektashism Studies is an interdisciplinary publication that publishes studies on Alevism and Bektashism with direct or indirect relevance to fields such as history, law, folk literature, folklore, archival science, philosophy,sociology, anthropology, art history, archaeology, musicology, theology, and other fields of social sciences.
The Journal of Alevism and Bektashism Studies, which is a peer-reviewed journal, will be published biannually by the Presidency of Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey with the status of a scientific, open access, interdisciplinary periodical publication in electronic environment and in print since 2024.
Decisions regarding the publication policy, scope, and content of the journal are made by the Editorial Board and the Advisory Board, which are appointed by the Alevi-Bektaşi Culture and Cemevi Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.
Manuscripts will only be accepted in Turkish and English. All previous issues of the journal can be accessed through the "E-Journal" tab (available via the journal section on the Directorate's main website). All articles published in the KÜN-AY Journal of Alevism and Bektashism Studies can be accessed through the journal's website.
The journal will only include studies focused on Alevism and Bektashism. These studies will be published provided that they adhere to the established ethical principles and guidelines. Submissions must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication in another journal. All articles published in the journal are subject to a Double-Blind Peer Review process.
The KÜN-AY Journal of Alevism and Bektashism Studies adopts an open-access policy, allowing all users to access the journal's content free of charge.
